Navratri or Maha Navratri is the celebration of good over evil across India. It is a much-awaited Hindu festival that spans over nine days, hence the word Navratri. In a year, there are four seasonal Navaratris. However, many households just celebrate two, Sharada Navratri, that occurs in the month of Ashvin according to the Hindu calendar.

This year the festival will begin on 7th October and end on Friday, 15th October. The festive season in India starts with the second Navratri of the year, which is then followed by Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and Bhai Dooj.

While normally, people from all walks of life and every corner of the world, celebrate the festival with full fervour and vigour.
